Regenerative by Nature 

Our willow crops are grown mainly in Kells area in County Meath, where Ireland’s climate offers the perfect conditions for growth.  

Once planted, willow trees regrow naturally after the harvest every two to three years through a process called coppicing. During harvesting, the stems are cut back to the stump rather than uprooted, allowing the same root system to remain in place. From this base (known as a “stool”), multiple new shoots emerge, creating a continuous cycle of renewal without the need for replanting. 

This cycle can continue for up to 36 years, making willow one of Ireland’s most sustainable and low-impact crops. 

Beyond its efficiency, willow cultivation supports regenerative agriculture. It improves soil fertility and helps manage water naturally, all while requiring minimal fertiliser. The result is healthier soil, more resilient ecosystems, and a farming model that gives back to the land rather than taking from it.

The Best Christmas Light Displays to Visit in Dublin 2025

Wild Lights at Dublin Zoo

Dublin Zoo’s Wild Lights has become one of Ireland’s most beloved Christmas traditions. Wonderlights at Malahide Castle & Gardens

If you’re craving something straight out of a fairy tale, Wonderlights at Malahide Castle is a must-see. This immersive light trail winds through historic woodlands, blending nature, sound, and technology into a spectacular visual experience. The 2025 theme, “Once Upon a Glow,” promises glowing tunnels, colourful projections, and dazzling interactive displays. 

Tickets range from €15–€25.50 for adults and €15–€24 for children (under-2s free). To reach Malahide Castle, take the DART from Connolly Station north toward Malahide, followed by a short walk. Dublin Winter Lights & Merrion Square Park 

Each December, Dublin City Council turns the city into a canvas of light and colour with its Winter Lights festival. Because they contain less moisture, WillowWarm Briquettes offer a cleaner burn with high heat efficiency, meaning that when dried a higher percentage of the heat goes directly towards the heat output, rather than the drying of the fuel first. As no energy is needed to first evaporate water in the fuel, dried fuel provides the most consistent operating cost. Steps to ensure you are using your WillowWarm Briquettes efficiently

1. Establish your fire as normal e.g., with kindling etc.

The briquettes are purposely heavy and dense which guarantees a long burn time with the structure lasting for much longer than many other wood fuels.

3. Pitch two briquettes up against the kindling which has just been lit. This increases the surface area of the briquette and helps the fire to catch.

4. Once the two briquettes have caught fire, place one more on top horizontally. This traps the fire more, contains the fire in the combustion chamber for longer (as opposed to having more fire and heat lost by escaping up the chimney flue).

5. Allow all fuel to burn. Once established in a fire setting, one briquette should last for well over an hour then add one or two more briquettes to re-charge the fire. However, we all have our how levels of comfort when it comes to how cosy we like a room to be and it’s worth bearing in mind that houses can very much differ as to how they retain heat. Judge for yourself as to when you need to add more fuel.

There is no discussion on this one – 17th of March is St. Patrick’s Day, not Paddy’s Day or Patties Day!

The immersion

You can only be truly green if you pose the panicked question “Did you switch off the immersion?” as soon as you leave the house. Those minutes of turmoil are plagued by many minds wondering if they are the guilty party.

The weather

We Irish LOVE to talk about the weather. If we are blessed with a warm sunny day, we’re bound to complain about the heat and that “We’re not able for it”. On the other hand, the threat of a beast from the East leads to panic buying with supermarket shelves quickly stripped of bread…….and briquettes!
