Accreditations

Our industry-recognised accreditations and certifications show our commitment to ensuring our customers can be assured of the quality and reliability of WillowWarm products.

Our fuel is classified as one of the cleanest fuel types in the solid fuel market. These accreditations confirm that our products meet the required regulations in Ireland and the UK Air Quality Standard 2020 Part 2 for Domestic Solid Fuel.

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)

The FSC forest management certification confirms that our forests are being managed in a way that preserves biological diversity and benefits the lives of local people and workers, while ensuring it sustains economic viability. FSC-certified forests are managed to strict environmental, social and economic standards.

Ready to Burn

Woodsure Ltd is the DEFRA appointed Certification Body to administer the Ready to Burn Scheme as recognised in The Air Quality (Domestic Solid Fuels Standards) (England) Regulations 2020.

Defra has appointed Woodsure to run the Ready to Burn certification scheme.

Firewood labelled as Ready to Burn has a moisture content of 20% or less. Ready to Burn logs and briquettes burn more efficiently than unseasoned, green wood and reduce environmental impact. Ready to Burn wood is not only better for your appliance and chimney but will also reduce maintenance and fuel costs.

Wood Fuel Quality Assurance Scheme

The Wood Fuel Quality Assurance Scheme – established in 2009, sets quality standards in wood supply and promotes market confidence in wood fuels in Ireland. Administered by the Irish BioEnergy Association (IrBEA) and supported by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, the scheme assists consumers to purchase quality wood fuels sustainably produced in compliance with EU Timber Regulations and EN 17225 which meet the supplier’s product specifications.

Using a WFQA wood fuel ensures matching the correct grade of wood fuel to the wood burning appliance / biomass boiler thus providing optimal efficiency and heating. Given that WFQA assured timber and biomass will be included in the pending National Clear Air Strategy and the Support Scheme for Renewable Heat, now is the time to register and join the WFQA.
